New Delhi:
Indian test stalwarts Ishant Sharma and veteran Gautam Gambhir will provide impetus to the Delhi team who are scheduled to play against Karnataka in the Ranji Trophy match starting on Thursday at Eden Gardens.
Ishant is set to return to the Delhi squad after being absent in competitive cricket due to chikungunya. Meanwhile Gambhir made a comeback into the Indian Test side after a gap of almost two years.
"Ishant and Gambhir will be playing in this match," chief coach KP Bhaskar told PTI on Wednesday. Ishant's fitness will be tested before the tie and Gambhir will like to reassert his place in the side as reserve opener in place of Shikhar Dhawan.
Gambhir replaced Dhawan in playing XI at Indore scoring a second innings half century on the best batting track in the series.
