ADHM release: Rajnath Singh assures delegation for safe release of film

Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh has assured the safe and hassle free release of film 'Ae Dil Hai Mushkil' in theatres on October 28 after a delegation comprising Filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt and others met him in Delhi.

Taking in cognizance the recent round of events regarding the release of the film and the protest it is facing, Rajnath Singh promised to provide his full support to the filmmakers and ensured that the film will be released safely.

Bhatt who is the President of Film & Television Producers Guild of India, after before meeting Singh had said, “As a delegation, I came to meet Home Minister Rajnath Singh as we were afraid that the law and order situation is going out of control especially in Mumbai. So we requested the Home Ministry to give as an assurance and tell the Chief Ministers of the state to make sure that the law and order remains intact during the release of our film 'Ae Dil Hai Mushkil' on October 28."

Rajnath Singh also assured that there will be police protection outside cinema halls in Maharashtra to avoid any situation of violence.

After meeting the Home Minister, Bhatt looked satisfied and briefed about the assurance. He said, “The ministry has assured us that we will get all support needed for the safe release of the film. We want to celebrate Diwali like we do and I am confident that I am safe and secure as the government has assured us their 100 percent support. The families need not worry regarding their safety during their visit to watch the film."

Although Director Karan Johar will skip the meeting as he is busy with the post-production of the film in Mumbai.
