The Indian fans have been treated to a sporting feast all through last week with the Indian teams bringing laurels to the nation with their spectacular on-field performances in Kabaddi, cricket and hockey.

It was a blockbuster week for Indian sports with the national teams coming out with flying colors in their respective sport. The Diwali gift to the Indian sporting fans has been handed over to them a week before the 'Festival of Lights'.

Be it the cricket field, the kabaddi mat or the hockey turf, the Indians came out all conquering against their opponents.


1. 2016 WORLD CUP KABADDI: INDIA RETAIN WORLD KABADDI CROWN, POST AN EPIC COMEBACK TO BEAT IRAN IN THE GRAND FINALE

India extended its hegemony in the sport by lifting its eight consecutive world title (circle and international format combined) in front of jam packed stadium at Ahmedabad on October 22.

The team scripted one of the most epic comebacks in the Grand Finale to thwart a formidable challenge from West Asian powerhouse Iran.India defeated Iran 38-29. Ajay Thakur shall be remembered for a long time for his heroic performance in the finals as he turned around the match with a string of spectacular raids.

2. 4TH ASIAN HOCKEY CHAMPIONS TROPHY 2016: INDIA BEAT ARCH RIVALS PAKISTAN 3-2 

Amid the heightened tension between the South Asian neighbors, where a ban was imposed on most of the sporting and cultural activities with Pakistan, hockey came out as unescaped to the fan's delight with the 

India beat Pakistan in the 4th Asian Champions Trophy being played at Malaysia on Sunday. India beat their arch rivals 3-2.

What made the victory even sweeter was India coming back from 1-2 down to turnaround the match and emerge victories. Pakistan started off the game in attacking fashion but India were more measured in their appraoch to dominate the play. Pradep Mor opened the scoring for India before Rizwan Sr equalized for Pakistan. Rupinder Pal Singh extended his goal scoring form by netting the second goal.

The clash was reminiscent of a typical Indo-Pak match where skill and flair took precedence over speed and power.

3. IND vs NZ ODI SERIES: INDIA BEAT NZ BY SEVEN WICKETS IN THE THIRD ODI AT MOHALI 

India registered an impressive seven wicket victory over the Kiwis in the third ODI played out at Mohali on Sunday. Indians took a 2-1 lead in the series courtesy their victory in the Mohali ODI.

Chasing down a imposing target of 285 set by the Kiwis, Indian skipper MS Dhoni and ace batsman Virat Kohli strung an excellent partnership to script the Indian victory.

MS Dhoni reached yet another milestone by becoming only the third wicket-keeper batsman to score 9000 ODI runs, meanwhile Kohli's 26th century took him to second place behind 'Batting Maestro' Sachin Tendulkar for the most number of centuries while chasing down totals in ODI's.

Earlier in the day, Indian bowling attack dented the Kiwi batting order before Jimmy Neesham and Matt Henry resurrected their innings with a record 9th wicket partnership for the Kiwis.
