6 women, 5 children die in two separate incidents after morning offerings on Chhath Puja in Bihar

At least six women were killed after being hit by a train near Darbangha in Bihar in the wee hours of Monday morning. The unfortunate incident took place while the women were reportedly returning after offering prayers of Chhath puja. 

In another incident, 5 children dead due to drowning during Chhath Puja celebrations in Muzaffarpur, Bihar. 

Further details are awaited. 

On Monday, a large part of North India is celebrating the final day of Chhath Puja, where people, especially women, offer prayers to Sun God for long life of their children and end their 36 hours long fast.
