The killers of Amjad Farid Sabri, the famous Pakistani singer and qawwali maestro have been arrested from the Liaqatabad area of Karachi, Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah announced on Monday.
Shah claimed that two criminals Ishaq alias Bobby and Asim alias Qapri were involved in the dreaded incident and a huge cache of arms and ammunition were arrested from their possession.
Sabri had been gunned down by motorcycle-borne men near his Liaqatabad residence in June 2016 while he was traveling to a television studio.
The counter terrorism department (CTD) played a pivotal role in the arrest of the two criminals.
Shah said that the accused were also involved in carrying out several high profile terror incidents, including the killing of military personnel.
The Sindh CM further added that the two suspects were members of outlawed Lashkar-e-Jhangvi Naeem Bukhari group.
