Guru Nanak Dev was born in year 1469 in Rai-Bhoi-di Talwandi, in the present Shekhupura District of Pakistan.Â
One of the most sacred Gurudwaras of Sikh Community in India, Golden temple in Amritsar was lit up for the festival on Monday. Delhi's Bangla Saheb along with other Sikh Temples were also decorated in bright lights.Â
However, Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee has requested all devotees not to burst crackers this year in view of the heavy pollution caused by it.Â
