Prime Minister Narendra Modi attended the debate on demonetisation in Rajya Sabha on Thursday amid uproar by the Opposition parties seeking clarification from him in this regard.

Suspected militants belonging to the Students Islamic Movement of India (SIMI), who were killed in an alleged police encounter in Bhopal last month, have been hailed as 'martyrs'.

3) From today, get new currency of Rs 2000 through card swipe at Big Bazaar counters too

From Thursday, people can withdraw cash up to Rs 2,000 by using debit cards at all Big Bazaar stores. The move was announced  this week to ease cash-crunch situation post demonetisation.

4) Long queues expected at banks, ATMs as deadline to use old notes ends today

Cash rush at banks and ATMS is likely to swell as exemptions to use old defunct Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes for paying household utility bills, fuel, taxes and fees and purchases from co-operative stores, end on Thursday.

5)  Let's stop living in a fools' paradise: Shatrughan fires salvo at Centre's demonetisation move

BJP leader Shatrughan Sinha has fired another salvo at the Centre questioning authenticity of a survey on demonetisation shared by PM Narendra Modi.
