New Delhi:

Upping the ante on the demonetisation issue, the AAP on Thursday announced that it will organise six rallies across the nation, including one in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s constituency Varanasi, and raise questions on the alleged “Rs 8 lakh crore scam” related to it.

Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal will hold three rallies in poll-bound Uttar Pradesh starting from December 1 in Meerut, followed by a rally in Varanasi and Lucknow on December 8 and 18 respectively, AAP leader Ashish Khetan said.

Modi has defeated Kejriwal from the Varanasi Lok Sabha seat in May 2014 by a massive margin of 3.37 lakh votes.

The rallies assume significance as UP goes to polls early next year.

On December 20, Kejriwal will hold a rally in Bhopal, followed by two more in Ranchi and Jaipur on December 22 and 23 respectively.

Notably, all three are BJP-ruled states. “We will raise important questions about demonetisation and Rs 8 lakh crore scam related to it,” said Khetan.

Kejriwal is currently in Punjab, campaigning for the party for the Assembly elections scheduled early next year.

While addressing a press conference, senior leader and National Spokesperson Ashish Khetan said, "Aam Aadmi Party will demonstrate at all District Headquarters across India to protest against the Rs 8 lakh crore scam. National Convener Arvind Kejriwal will address six rallies over the next four weeks across the country on this issue."

Mr Khetan said that the Delhi Chief Minister will ask the following questions to the Modi Government through these rallies:

# The diaries seized by the Income Tax Department from the offices of Aditya Birla and Sahara Groups show that Prime Minister Narendra Modi was paid large sums of cash while he was Gujarat Chief Minister. Leaders of other parties are also named in the diaries. Do you think they should all be investigated?

# Narendra Modi ji has written off loans of Rs 1 lakh and 14 thousand crores of a few companies. Do you think it is right?

# Rupee Seven lakh crores deposited by 'aam aadmi' in banks after November 8 is being used by Prime Minister to write off the loans of top corporate groups. Do you think this is right?

# Do you think the Prime Minister should instead take steps to make the top corporate groups to repay the loans of Rs 8 lakh crores taken from public sector banks?

# Do you think the Prime Minister should make public the list of 700 Swiss Bank Account holders?

# Do you think the Prime Minister should take action against those who have deposited Rs 80 lakh crores in foreign banks?

# A week after Rs 500 & 1000 notes were demonetised, SBI wrote off Rs 1200 crores of Vijay Mallya and Rs 5800 crores of 62 other corporates. Do you think this is right?
