Continuing its dominating performance, India has beaten England by an innings and 36 runs in the fourth Test match to take an unassailable 3-0 lead in the five-Test series in Mumbai on Monday.
India spinners once again held centre stage as the hosts produced a clinical performance to cruise to a comfortable victory on the fourth day of the fourth Test match.
The duo of Ravichandran Ashwin (12 wickets) and Ravindra Jadeja (6 wickets) shared bulk of the spoils in the match to dismiss the visitors for a paltry 195 in their second innings.
Courtesy to skipper Virat Kohli’s smashing innings of 235 drove India to a huge total of 631 with a guiding maiden century by Jayant Yadav.
With a massive lead of 231 under its belt, Indian team capitalised the situation on day four and removed the remaining four England wickets quickly on Moday morning.
It was a match where England were outbatted and outbowled by an Indian side that has been plagued by injuries.
But Ashwin as usual put up a lion-hearted performance once again with total of 12 wickets in the match. Although Virat Kohli has been adjourned as the man of the match for his career best Test score.
