Sasikala Natarajan, close associate of late Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa, will be the next general secretary of the AIADMK, reports said on Thursday.
'Chinnamma' (Sasikala) will be elected the next General Secretary of the party, Ponnaiyan told reporters at a press meet in Chennai on Thursday.
Ponnaiyan further said that it was the "desire of the entire party that Chinnamma should become the General Secretary. Chinnamma has functioned as the conscience of Amma," news reports quoted the AIADMK functionary as saying.
"To fill the void in the party created by the demise of Amma, AIADMK senior party leaders and ministers have urged Chinnamma to take on the mantle of general secretary," Panneerselvam said.
