New Delhi:
Ravichandran Ashwin won the Cricketer of the Year and the ICC Test Cricketer of the Year 2016 by the International Cricket Council on Thursday. He is now the third Indian cricketer to win the Sir Garfield Sobers trophy after Rahul Dravid (2004) and Sachin Tendulkar.
Virat Kohli was named captain of the ICC ODI Team of the Year, while Ravindra Jadeja and Rohit Sharma also featured in that team.
England’s Alastair Cook was named as captain of the ICC Test Team of the Year, which includes four Englishmen, three Australians, and a player each from New Zealand, India, Sri Lanka and South Africa.
