Bollywood star Mithun Chakraborty on Monday resigned from the Rajya Sabha. Mithun cited health reasons for decision to quit from parliament.
Mithun had been member of Rajya Sabha in last two years. During this period, the actor has attended parliament for three days only.
Chakraborty was sent to Rajya Sabha by the Trinamool Congress (TMC) in April 2014. He attended the House in his first two sessions. First, for two days in the 231st session, and a solitary day during the 232nd session.
