The press conference will follow an anti-demonetisation meeting, called by the Congress, for bringing together the opposition parties which have been fighting the move of the BJP-led Government at the centre.
But Congress’ plans to onslaught against government do not have full support of the opposition as most of the parties decide to stay away from the conference.
Some Opposition leaders seem to be miffed with Congress Vice-President Rahul Gandhi for meeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the last day of the winter session of Parliament without even informing or consulting them.
CPI(M), the main force in the Left Front and arch rival of the TMC, has decided to stay away from the joint press conference. The Samajwadi Party and Bahujan Samaj Party are also unlikely to attend the event.
