Union minister of law and justice Ravi Shankar Prasad on Tuesday sharply reacted to the opposition’s allegations against the Narendra Modi government’s demonetisation move. He said that the demonetisation is against black money and terrorism.
He also took a jibe at Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi, who along with West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, was seen battling it out over demonetisation at a joint press conference in Delhi.
“Demonetisation is against black money and terrorism. Oppposition is not united against notes ban. Rahul Gandhi is an immature leader,” said Prasad.
Earlier on Tuesday, questioning the motive behind the currency ban move, Rahul said that the Prime Minister is answerable to the nation.
“PM should answer the nation, that what was the real motive of demonetisation and what will he do for those affected by it. PM should answer the nation, that what was the real motive of demonetisation and what will he do for those affected by it,” said Rahul.
Mamata too criticised the notes ban move as she called it a mega scam and a biggest one after independence.
“Demonetisation is a mega scam, biggest one after independence. Modi govt has become baseless and faceless in the name of cashless,” said Mamata.
