Though the makers did try to avert the clash, but both the movie will be hit the big screen together on January 25. This major box office clash has indeed created a buzz in the industry.
While everyone is brimming with opinions on this clash, Hrithik, who has so far maintained a stoic stance over the clash, too has broken his silence on it.
The actor stated that it is sad that two of the much talked about movies are clashing at the box office. He also drew an analogy between
Hollywood and Bollywood saying ‘Superman’ movies never clash with ‘Batman’ movies there.
“It's not illegal or unethical, so it's fine. But it is sad and quite an eye-opener that although Hollywood and Bollywood share the same calendar, you will never see Batman movies clashing with Superman films or 'Lord Of The Rings' clashing with 'Harry Potter'. They manage their calendars so well that two movies will never clash. They are aware that that is best for the industry, because when two films clash, the returns for the industry fall a lot,” Hrithik told a leading daily.
He also asserted that the clash will make the industry suffer a loss of Rs 100 crore.
“Hopefully, both films will do well, but on the whole, it will be a loss of about 100 crore for the industry as compared to both films releasing individually. My father understands that and he was sad about that, and he thinks that it could have been managed in a better way,” Hrithik added.
However, Hrithik did expressed his optimism on the clash as well hoping both the movies do well.
“We completely understand that 'Raees' was in the waiting for far too long. My wish is that when both films do well, Shah Rukh, Farhan (Akhtar, 'Raees' producer), dad, myself and everyone will pop champagne and celebrate for each other,” Hrithik was quoted as saying.
Helmed by Sanjay Gupta, ‘Kaabil’ also stars Yami Gautam in the lead. This is the first time Hrithik will be romancing Yami on the silver screen and they will be seen playing a blind couple in ‘Kaabil’
