New Delhi:

With 2019 Assembly Elections just a few days away, YSR Congress Party chief YS Jaganmohan Reddy on Friday filed nomination from Pulivendula Assembly constituency in Andhra Pradesh. Reddy, the Leader of Opposition was accompanied by other YSR Congress Party members and filed his papers before the Returning Officer in Pulivendula town of Kadapa district.

"Every vote that is cast will be a vote not just for Jagan but also for the future of Andhra Pradesh and the party navaratnas are more precious than the money bags of Chandrababu Naidu." Jagan told his supporters before filling his nomination from his home turf.

Addressing a massive crowd of his supporters in Pulivendula, Reddy further appealed to people to bless him and his party for the next month's elections to the Andhra Pradesh Assembly.

In a veiled attack at the ruling Telegu Desam Party (TDP), he accused Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu of hatching a conspiracy to create trouble for YSRCP leaders, adding that people should not be get provoked by this.

In an apparent reference to the recent murder of his uncle and party leader YS Vivekananda Reddy, Jagan said the TDP was doing 'murder politics'. "This is the modus operandi of TDP and you have been alert. Do not fall into the trap. Truth prevails and justice will be done," he was quoted as saying.

Coming down heavily on Jana Sena leader Pawan Kalyan, Jagan said, "The partner of Chandrababu Naidu has become active and reading out the lines from the script of his big boss. It is the TDP leadership that has been the producer, script writer, navigator and director of the actor".

Pitching his 'navaratnas' scheme as promised in the party manifesto, Jagan said his government will take care of all sections of people and end the "corrupt, deceptive and demeaning" government of Chandrababu Naidu.

Before submitting his nomination papers, Jagan also attended an all-religious prayer meet in the town. Jagan is seeking re-election from Pulivendula, considered the pocket borough of his family. YSR family has been representing this constituency for the last decades.

Jagan's father and former Chief Minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy was elected from Pulivendula six times. YS Vivekananda Reddy was elected twice while Jagan's mother YS Vijayamma was elected once.

There are 25 Lok Sabha and 175 Assembly seats in Andhra Pradesh. Both Lok Sabha and Assembly polls will be held simultaneously in the state on April 11.
