New Delhi:

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has consolidated its lead on more than 60 seats as the counting is still underway in the Delhi Assembly elections. BJP, on the other hand, appears to have received a mega rout in the elections with its candidates leading on just 7 seats in Delhi. Reactions have started to pour in as AAP looks set to form government in the national capital.

Former Union Minister P Chidambaram was one of the earliest responders after initial trends hinted a comfortable AAP victory in Delhi. Taking to Twitter, Chidambaram launched a tirade at the saffron party saying, “AAP won, bluff and bluster lost. The people of Delhi, who are from all parts of India, have defeated the polarising, divisive and dangerous agenda of the BJP I salute the people of Delhi who have set an example to other states that will hold their elections in 2021 and 2022.”

With hands folded above his head, Bihar CM Nitish Kumar said, “Janta malik hai”.

Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray took a dig at PM’s 'Mann Ki Baat' saying, “People have shown that the country will be run by 'Jan Ki Baat', not 'Mann Ki Baat'.”

RJD leader and former Bihar Deputy CM Tejaswi Yadav said, “The mandate given by the people of Delhi has shown that they will vote on work and development.”

Former AAP member and currently the BJP candiate from Model Town, Kapil Mishra hinted for an introspection for the saffron party as he said, “BJP has lost the fifth state election in a row. It means we have somewhere failed to connect with the people of Delhi.”

Samajwadi party chief Akhilesh Yadav thanked people of Delhi saying, “I also thank the people of Delhi who rejected the politics of hate, betrayal, and destruction. After the result of this election, BJP will not remember any Bagh.”

BJP MP Parvesh Verma, who had been landing himself amid controversies in the Assembly election, said “I accept the result. We will work hard and give a better performance in the next elections. If this election would have been on Education and Development, then Education Minister (Manish Sisodia) would not have been trailing.”
