'Hanuman Chalisa' has started trending on social media and Google after two BJP leaders -- Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Kapil Mishra – took a dig at Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and AIMIM leader Asaduddin Owaisi on Tuesday. As the campaign for the Delhi Assembly elections heats up ahead of voting day on February 8, Adityanath said AAP chief Kejriwal has started reciting the 'Hanuman Chalisa' and Owaisi can now be expected to follow suit.
On Monday, Kejriwal told a news channel that he does not need BJP's endorsement on being a Hindu. He also recited the 'Hanuman Chalisa' on stage.
Addressing a poll rally in Kirari in northwest Delhi, Adityanath said the opposition, including Kejriwal, was unable to digest the fact that there is a resolution to the problems plaguing the country.
He cited the BJP government's initiatives to withdraw Jammu and Kashmir's special status under Article 370 and the Ayodhya temple.
"Now Arvind Kejriwal has started reciting the 'Hanuman Chalisa'. In coming days, you will see Owaisi reciting the same. This will certainly happen," Adityanath said.
BJP candidate from Model Town constituency Kapil Mishra, who has already received a warning from the Election Commission for his provocative slogans, said that even Owaisi will chant the Hanuman Chalisa if the "majority" stands united.
In a tweet on Tuesday, Mishra said: "Kejriwal has started reading the Hanuman Chalisa, now Owaisi will also start reading it."

"This is the power of our unity. We should remain united and vote as one force. Our unity will dig the grave of the dirty politics played by the '20% vote bank'," said Mishra in his tweet.
Last week the Election Commission had imposed a 48-hour campaigning ban on Mishra following his tweets of January 22 and 23.
Slamming the anti-CAA protests in Delhi, particularly the agitation in Shaheen Bagh, Mishra called these protest sites "mini-Pakistan" and said the upcoming Assembly elections will be a contest "on Delhi roads between India and Pakistan".
In another provocative tweet, Mishra said: "Pakistan has made its entry in Shaheen Bagh. Many mini Pakistans are being formed in Delhi. Indian law is not not being followed in Shaheen Bagh, Chandbagh, Indralok."
"Pakistan rioters have encroached on the roads of Delhi (Pakistan ki entry Shaheen Bagh mein ho chuki hain. Delhi mein chhote chhote Pakistan Banaye ja rahe hain.
