Just four days before the Delhi Assembly Elections, the ruling Aam Aadmi Party released its much-anticipated manifesto on Tuesday. From doorstep delivery of ration to free pilgrimage to 10 lakh senior citizens, the AAP left no stone unturned to woo the voters. The highlight of the poll manifesto was special focus on clean water supply, electricity and healthcare facility for the residents of Delhi. But it was the challenge to the BJP that set the tone of the AAP’s final phase campaigning agenda. Delhi Chief Minister and AAP’s national convenor Arvind Kejriwal dared the BJP to declare its Chief Ministerial candidate. Kejriwal has set 1 pm deadline for the BJP to announce the CM name. Kejriwal said that he is ready for a public debate with the BJP’s CM candidate.

Kejriwal also said that if the BJP doesn't do so by then, he will meet the press to announce his next course of action. "Delhiites want the BJP to declare its chief ministerial candidate and I am ready for a debate with him," he said. 

Other key takeaways of the AAP’s poll manifesto were: ‘Deshbhakti’ course for Delhi schools, full statehood for Delhi. AAP also promised new appointment of Safai Karamcharis and Rs 1 crore compensation for family of deceased sanitation worker, says Sisodia.

Last month on January 31st, the BJP had released it poll manifesto for Delhi. The BJP promised wheat flour at Rs 2 per kg for the poor, cycles and scooties for girl students as well as an 10 per cent increase in the health and education budget annually. The BJP, in its 'Sankalp Patra 2020' (manifesto), also said it would focus on women empowerment, traders, infrastructure development and housing for all by 2022. Delhi BJP chief Manoj Tiwari said the outgoing AAP government's subsidy schemes for power and water will be continued by his party if it is voted to power.

The 'Sankalp Patra' was released at the Delhi BJP office by Union minister Nitin Gadkari, election in-charge Prakash Javadekar and manifesto committee convener Harsh Vardhan.  Party MPs Vijay Goel, Meenakshi Lekhi, Parvesh Verma, Ramesh Bidhuri, Hans Raj Hans and Gautam Gambhir were also present. The manifesto booklet also created a flutter as it mentioned Raj Kumar Chauhan as the manifesto committee's co-convener, when he has joined the Congress.

On Sunday, the Congress released its manifesto for the upcoming Delhi Assembly Elections. The manifesto, which was released in the presence of party’s Delhi president Subhash Chopra and senior leaders like Ajay Maken and Anand Sharma, promises to implement an unemployment allowance of Rs 5,000-7,500 per month and cashback schemes for water and power consumers, if voted to power. “An unemployment allowance of Rs 5,000 for graduates and Rs 7,500 for postgraduates per month will be provided under the Yuva Swabhiman Yojna, Congress Delhi chief said.

Presenting the manifesto, Chopra emphasized the grand old party will provide free power up to 300 units per month. To address the concern about the rise in population, the Congress has promised to spend 25 per cent budget each year on fighting pollution and improving transport facilities.
