New Delhi:

Amid controversy of having no woman face in the cabinet, Arvind Kejriwal has decided retain all the ministers who were part of his previous government. Speculations were rife over the inclusion of foreign educated Atishi in the new cabinet, along with prominent youth face Raghav Chadha. In a near-repeat performance of 2015, the Arvind Kejriwal-led AAP, which was floated in November 2012, retained power with a scintillating win in the just-concluded Delhi Assembly polls. The AAP bagged 62 out of the 70 seats.

Reacting to the Arvind Kejriwal’s cabinet decision of retaining the cabinet, AAP leader Manish Sisodia said: “There is nothing wrong if Arvind Kejriwal ji thinks that the same cabinet should be repeated. People are happy with the work of the cabinet and we won the elections on basis of our work. We will continue to build and maintain the confidence of the people.”

On Saturday, Kejriwal hosted a dinner meeting of his ministers-designate to discuss a roadmap for Delhi's development. According to party functionaries, Kejriwal discussed with his ministers-designate initiatives that need to be prioritised and action items for the Delhi government in the coming three months.

All the six ministers in the previous government—Manish Sisodia, Satyendar Jain, Gopal Rai, Kailash Gehlot, Imran Hussain and Rajendra Gautam—have been retained.

In Kejriwal’s previous (2015) government, retained ministers held the following portfolios:

Gopal Rai: Rai held rural development, general administration department, irrigation and flood control and labour departments under him. He is also the Convener of the Delhi state unit of the AAP.

Imran Hussain: He was minister of food and civil supplies, environment and forests.

Satyender Jain: Jain held portfolios like health, industries, power, public works department, home and urban development, in AAP's 2015 government.

Kailash Gehlot: Kailash Gehlot held transport ministry in Kejriwal's previous government along with revenue, law, justice and legislative affairs, information and technology, administrative reforms.

Rajendra Gautam: He held charges of social welfare, SC and ST, gurudwara elections, water, and registrar of cooperative societies.
