BJP's Haryana chief Subhash Barala has dismissed reports that he offered to quit as state president after with the party did not perform as well as expected in the Haryana elections. It was reported that Barala has offered his resignation to BJP president Amit Shah as party was struggling to touch the majority mark of 46 in the 90-seat assembly. Barala is also losing in his Tohana assembly seat, where Dushyant Chautala's JJP (Jannayak Janata Party) is ahead.

Talking to ANI, Barala said that he had not resigned from his post and that the news of his resignation was a rumour.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah, the BJP national president, has summoned Haryana Chief Minister ML Khattar to Delhi over the election results. The BJP struggled to maintain its edge as it hovered around 40 seats in leads. The Congress led in 31 seats, and is said to be in talks with Dushyant Chautala.

Seven ministers of the BJP were trailing and the party was far from the "Mission 75" target it had set.
