Haryana Assembly Elections 2019: Congress interim president Sonia Gandhi’s only rally in the state has been cancelled just hours before it was to take place. Rahul Gandhi will now address the rally in Mahendergarh in place of Sonia. Congress has not given a reason for the change in plans, and soon deleted the tweet in which the news of Sonia Gandhi skipping the rally was initially announced.
"Shri @RahulGandhi ji will be addressing a public meeting at Mahendragarh today, at 2 PM. @INCIndia President Smt. Sonia Gandhi ji will not be able to attend the meeting due to unavoidable reasons (sic)," the tweet had said.
This was to be her first public meeting after taking over as interim president in August.
