New Delhi:

Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed an election rally in Haryana’s Charkhi Dadri on Tuesday. Later, he will also address a rally in Kurukshetra today. PM Modi addressed the first of his four grand rallies in Ballabhgarh on Monday. In Ballabgarh, he had targeted the Congress party for opposing Triple Talaq Bill in the Parliament and said that the opposition party hoped to do politics of '"Muslim Vote bank" but the big decision was implemented without any opposition in the country. On Tuesday, PM Modi’s focus was more on issues related to farmers of Haryana. From water woes faced by the farmers to condition of daughters in the state, PM Modi spoke on various issues.

Hailing Haryana’s role in his flagship ‘Beti Bachao’ programme, Modi said, that ‘during my recent informal summit with Chinese President Xi Jinping, he said to me that he had seen 'Dangal' movie which showcased excellent performance of daughters of India. I felt really proud of Haryana on hearing this.’ ‘Had the villages of Haryana not stepped forward then 'Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao' would not have been so widespread, effective & fruitful. Every person in Haryana says 'Mhari chhoriyaan chhoron se kam hain ke,'’ Modi said.

"For 70 years, water that belonged to Haryana's farmers flowed to Pakistan. Modi will stop that water and bring it to your house, “ the Prime Minister said amid loud cheers.

PM Modi's last rally in the state will be in the Jat-dominated Hisar on October 18, a day before the last day of election campaigning. Elections to the 90-member Haryana Assembly will be held on October 21 along with 288-member Maharashtra Assembly. The counting of votes is scheduled to commence on October 24.

Earlier on Sunday, the Bhartiya Janata Party released its manifesto for the Haryana Assembly Elections promising measures to double the farmers’ income by 2022. The manifesto also underlines party’s vision to ensure irrigation cards and water for irrigation to all the farmers in the state. It said one lakh solar pumps will also be provided to farmers. Along with this, the manifesto has the promise of providing self-defence training to women and super speciality hospitals in all the 22 districts of the state. On the employment front, BJP promised to invest Rs 5,000 crore in order to help enhance skills of 25 lakh youths of the state.
