Senior Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut has reportedly said that the grand alliance with the NCP and the Congress is nearing actualisation and Maharashtra will soon get a state government. Raut reportedly told media in Mumbai on Thursday the lawmakers of all three parties will hand over the signed letter to Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari on Saturday, November 23. An NDTV report also said that some party leaders are claiming that the swearing-in ceremony will be held as early as Sunday or Monday. Source privy to the political developments in Maharashtra had old News Nation that as per the power-sharing formula being discussed, Maharashtra is likely to have rotational chief ministers from Shiv Sena and NCP while the Congress may get deputy CM's post for full five years.

"Things are moving in positive direction. Power sharing formula is being chalked out. Rotational CM (from Shiv Sena and NCP) is a possibility while Congress may get deputy CM for five years. Consultations are on and government is likely to be formed before the first phase of Jharkhand elections. Ideological issue has been sorted out," the source, who is aware of the discussions, said.

In the October 21 Maharashtra polls, the BJP-Sena alliance secured a comfortable majority by winning 105 and 56 seats respectively in the 288-member Assembly. The Congress and the NCP, pre-poll allies, won 44 and 54 seats respectively. However, failing to evolve a consensus over the chief minister’s post, the Shiv Sena parted ways with the BJP and decided to explore the possibility of tying up with the Congress and the NCP.

Meanwhile, the Congress Working Committee on Thursday reviewed the political logjam in Maharashtra. Congress sources said a final decision on Maharashtra is expected by tomorrow. Another meeting between Congress and NCP is to happen Thursday night and a final meeting with Shiv Sena will happen Friday in Mumbai. The decision on government formation in Maharashtra will be announced in Mumbai on Friday, the sources said to news agency PTI.
