BJP releases manifesto for Rajasthan Assembly polls, promises 50 lakh jobs

The ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Tuesday released its manifesto for the December 7 Rajasthan Assembly elections. Named as 'Gaurav Sankalp', the BJP manifesto was released by Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje, Union Ministers Arun Jaitley and Prakash Javadekar in Jaipur. While releasing the manifesto, Raje claimed that she fulfilled 630 of the 655 promises made in 2013. This time, the BJP has promised to create 50 lakh jobs in the private sector and 30,000 jobs in government. To avoid the embarrassment over the rapidly increasing unemployment, the party has promised to give Rs 5,000 per month to jobless youth.

Speaking at the launch event in Jaipur, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley said that the manifesto is the BJP’s “Gaurav Sankalp” resolution which outlines the roadmap of Rajasthan’s future. He said that the BJP was ahead of the Congress in both the ticket distribution and releasing the manifesto.

Key takeaways of BJP's manifesto for Rajasthan Assembly polls:

  1. In order to connect all the districts, a 4-lane highway "Rajasthan Mala" will be constructed. All the villages above the population of 250 will be linked to road connectivity.
  2. The government will try to prepare a plan to build an artificial Inland Port by bringing the waters of the Arabian Sea to Gujarat to Sanchor and Jalore.
  3. In the next 5 years, 50 lakh employment opportunities will be created in the self-employed and private sector. Around 30 thousand government jobs will be given every year.
  4. Up to Rs 5,000 per month will be given as unemployment allowance to eligible youth above the age of 21 years.
  5. Yoga Board, Bhagwan Parshuram Board, Rajasthan Vedic Studies Board, a separate Labor Welfare Board for unorganized workers, Gold Arts Board, Silver Arts Board, Wood Arts Board, Economic Backward Classes Development Commission will be formed.
  6. All Gram Panchayat headquarters will be connected to 108 emergency ambulance service.
  7. Will work towards connecting the deprived villages with Eastern Rajasthan Kanal Project (ERCP) - a Rs 37 thousand crore project that connects 13 districts for irrigation and drinking water.
  8. In the villages of the state, those who are living on the land of government in juggies, will be provided residential lease on their occupied lands.
  9. In order to meet the shortage of water, the surplus water (181 MCM) of Wakal, Sabarmati, Seyi and Pamari Nidhi of Sabarmati basin will be transferred to the in the Jawai Dam. 
  10. Rs 250 crore will be allocated for farmers start up.
