New Delhi:

Ducati Hypermotard 950 was launched in India on Wednesday. The motorcycle comes on two variants i.e. Hypermotard 950 SP and the standard Hypermotard 950 and the prices start at Rs 11.99 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).

Notably, the 2019 Ducati Hypermotard 950 officially replaces the Hypermotard 939. The motorcycle is equipped with a new engine, a new chassis, suspension and also an updated electronics package. It is powered by the 937 cc Testastretta L-twin engine that produces 114 bhp at 9,000 rpm and develops a peak torque of 96 Nm at 7,250 rpm. The engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox. The motor comes with new pistons with a higher compression ratio, new exhaust cam profile, new 53 mm throttle bodies and new engine mapping.

The difference between the standard Ducati Hypermotard 950 and the Hypermotard 950 SP is in the suspension set up, weight, wheels and tyres and the seat height. The standard model comes with fully adjustable Marzocchi front fork and Sachs rear monoshock, while the Hypermotard 950 SP gets fully adjustable Ohlins suspension both at the front and back, with more travel.

Recently, the Ducati Hypermotard 950 concept bike bagged an award for the "Concept Bikes: New Design and Prototypes by Manufacturers and Independents" category at the Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este. The concept bike has been designed the Centro Stile Ducati.

The Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este is an event where vintage cars and classic bikes are showcased. The mega event has been taking place since 1929 near the Villa d’Este hotel in Cernobbio, on the shores of Lake Como in Italy. However, the "Concept Bikes: New Design and Prototypes by Manufacturers and Independents" category was first introduced in 2002.
