Two-wheeler super-sport bike company, KTM, on Wednesday launched the much-awaited KTM RC 125 in India at the price of Rs 1.47 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). According to the company, KTM RC16 is inspired by the MotoGP machine.

Sumeet Narang, Vice President (Probiking) at Bajaj Auto Ltd. said "KTM motorcycles are built to a purpose of winning performance and handling. It is no different with the RC 125 which will provide a true KTM experience to the motorcycle enthusiast seeking to enter our Super-sport world. It carries Moto GP genes from its sibling, the much celebrated RC16."

Coming to the designs and body of KTM RC16, the motorcycle is fully faired and it gets the company's steel trellis frame, upside down forks by WP and a triple clamp handlebar as well. It is also equipped with twin projector headlamps with daytime running lamps and a digital instrument console.

The KTM RC16 has a ground clearance of 157 mm and has a weight of 154.2 kg. As far as the engineering is concerned, KTM RC16 uses the 124 cc single-cylinder engine which produces 14.3 bhp of power and 12 Nm of peak torque. It is paired to a 6-speed gearbox.

On the braking front, KTM RC16 comes from a 300 mm disc up at the front and a 230 mm disc at the rear. The KTM’s new arrival gets a Bosch single-channel ABS and rear-lift mitigation (RLM).

In the Indian market, the RC 125 will be up against the Yamaha R15 V3.0.

In January this year, KTM had introduced its street super-sport RC 390 R, which is the successor of the RC 390.
