Hyundai Motors took the wraps off the next-generation ix25 SUV (Creta) earlier this year at the 2019 Shanghai Motor Show. It is to be noted that Hyundai ix25 is the successor of Hyundai Creta in India. Yes, you read it right. The launch of Hyundai ix25 i.e. will take place sometime in the year 2020 and will be available as either a five-seater or a seven-seater configuration. However, before the launch, specification of the next-generation ix25 SUV (Creta) has been revealed.
According to a report of Autocar India, the ix25 SUV will measure 4,300mm in length, 1,790mm in width and 1,622mm in height. The wheelbase of the ix25 SUV will be 2,610mm.
The new ix25 SUV will have some major styling changes from the current generation of Creta. The new ix25 SUV will come equipped with a dual LED headlamp unit, with the LED DRLs on top and the main projector headlamp unit at the bottom. It will also have cascading front grille with chrome surrounds. The rear will also come with a set of LED tail lights.
On the inside, the new ix25 SUV will offer a more premium and upmarket cabin, with better quality interiors, added features and a long list of comfort and safety equipment.
The new ix25 SUV will come equipped with 1.5-litre petrol and diesel units from the upcoming Kia Seltos. It is worth mentioning here that the new engines are already BS-VI compliant and will replace the older 1.4-litre and 1.6-litre engines available on the current generation of Creta.
Autocar India further reports that Hyundai motors might introduce the 1.4-litre turbo-petrol engine from the Kia Seltos on the next-generation Creta as well. On the other hand, the diesel 1.5-litre unit will churn out 115bhp and 250Nm of torque. All engines will be mated to a standard six-speed manual gearbox. Importantly, the 1.5 petrol, 1.5 diesel and the 1.4 turbo petrol will receive an optional CVT, torque-converter and DCT transmissions, respectively.
