In a bid to make driving more easy and comfortable, Hyundai Mobis has developed a camera monitoring system that will replace side-view mirrors in next-generation vehicles, reported Yonhap news agency. Well, we must say that it’s a useful and effective device.
According to report by Yonhap news agency, Hyundai Mobis on Sunday came forward to say that it has developed a camera monitoring system that will replace side-view mirrors in next-generation vehicles.
It is to be noted that with the advanced sensor technology, Hyundai Mobis has joined a couple of global future mobility developers and it aims to export the technology to carmakers.
In a statement, Hyundai Mobis said, “Three high-performance camera sensors inside the vehicle will not only increase driving safety by significantly reducing blind spots, and but also improve fuel efficiency as side-view mirrors will be hidden inside the car.”
"The paradigm shift to the future car is demanding both functional and design upgrades of all core components, which have been taken for granted until today," Vice President Gregory Baratoff in charge of autonomous vehicle development at Hyundai Mobis said in the statement.
“However, the South Korea's largest auto parts maker will not only develop element technologies, like sensors and solutions based on them, but also the core parts portfolio that it has already secured in accordance with the future car era,” Baratoff concluded.
It is worth mentioning here that Hyundai Mobis has recently developed a driver state warning system which is said to be capable of preventing road accidents caused by careless driving. “This Driver State Warning (DSW) system can recognise and analyse data from the driver's facial features like eyes, nose, mouth and ears,” the company claimed.
Importantly, the DSW system is meant for the mid and full-size commercial vehicles.
