South Korean automaker Hyundai is all geared up to launch yet another SUV in the Indian market Venue and will be in direct competition with Mahindra XUV300, Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Ford Ecosport and Tata Nexon. The subcompact SUV will be officially unveiled on 17 April at the New York Auto show as well as in India,

Hyundai Venue is expected to come in three engine options including 1.4-litre petrol, 1.4-litre diesel engine and Ford Ecosport’s like 1.0-litre three-cylinder petrol turbo engine which can produce 100 bhp and 172 Nm of torque. The engine will come in both manual and automatic transmission.

Recently, Hyundai showcased their smallest SUV concept car and called it Carlino at the Delhi Auto Expo 2016. The compact SUV is expected to sport some segment first features including wireless charging, ventilated seats.

The price of Hyundai Venue is expected to be around Rs 8 lakh to 12 lakh (ex-showroom) and it has been spotted several times in Delhi NCR during its testing. It is based on the Hyundai Carlino concept which was showcased at the Auto Expo 2016 and is expected to feature a boxy design rather than its signature fluidic design.

However, the production model of Hyundai Venue may be different and may not resemble the concept model.

Recently, Hyundai Motors crossed 5 lakh cumulative sales milestone worldwide where 3.7 lakh units of the compact SUV has been sold alone in India while 1.4 lakh has been sold in other countries.

"With the record sales of over five lakh units in less than four years by any made-in-India SUV, Hyundai Creta has yet again set a new benchmark in the industry," Hyundai Motor India National Sales Head Vikas Jain said in a statement.

"Hyundai Creta is a convergence of design, performance, safety and technology. It is the Perfect SUV fulfilling the diverse needs of our New Age customers," Jain added.

The Hyundai Creta, which hit the Indian market back in 2015, comes with various features, including electric sunroof, cruise control, ventilated front row seats and wireless phone charger among others.
