Kia Motor India has recently unveiled the much-anticipated Seltos SUV. The all-new SUV will be launched in India on August 22, 2019. The company didn't give us any information about its variant. However, a new video has surfaced online which claims to have exclusive details about the variants the all-new Seltos SUV will be offered in.
According to the video, the all-new SUV will be offered in five variants including TE, TK, TK+, TX and TX+. The Seltos SUV base variant TE and will get features like Voice recognition, Bluetooth connectivity, Follow me home headlamps, Tilt and telescopic steering adjust, steering mounted audio controls, ABS + EBD and 2 airbags as standard.
Along with these features, the TK trim will get LED DRLs, cruise control, smart push engine start-stop system and electric foldable mirrors. On the other hand, the TX variant will be a connected car and will be equipped with the UVO connected car tech. It will come with LED headlamps and fog lamps, rear reclining seats, 10.25-inch touchscreen, ambient lighting, tyre pressure monitoring, USB fast charging and 17 inch alloy wheels. ‘
In addition to these features, the top notch XZ+ variant will come with Solar UV glass, eight way power adjustable seat, 7-inch MID display, Bose 8 Speakers, 360 degree camera view, driver rear view monitor, ventilated seats, wireless charging, Electric sunroof, Rain sensing wipers, 6 airbags, Brake Assist, Hill Assist, ESC, VSM, front parking sensors, multi drive modes and blind view monitor.
Kia Seltos will come with BS VI compliant powertrain. The SUV will have an option of 1.4 litre Turbo GDI petrol engine and a 1.5-litre diesel engine. The Seltos will be offered with multiple automatic transmission options like IVT, 7-speed DCT and 6-speed AT and a 6-speed manual gearbox. The compact SUV will be available in normal, eco and sports drive modes.
On the outside, the mid-size SUV will have the iconic tiger-nose grille with full LED headlamps on the front. It will also come with vertically housed LED fog lamps. On the rear, the car will be equipped with LED taillights and dual exhaust pipes. Along with 17-inch five-spoke dual-tone alloy wheels, the compact SUV will come with roof rails and shark fin antenna.
Along with the launch, Kia Motors India is expected to announce the official commencement of bookings for the Seltos next month. However, selected Kia dealerships in India have started accepting booking for Seltos unofficially.
The price of Seltos is expected to be between Rs 10 lakh (ex-showroom) to Rs 16 lakh (ex-showroom).
Kia Seltos will compete with Hyundai Creta, Nissan Kicks, Mahindra XUV500, Tata Harrier and MG Hector in India. It will also be exported to Latin America, the Middle East and some parts of Asia.
