The country’s largest carmaker Maruti Suzuki India (MSI) on Tuesday said it has introduced its multi-utility vehicle Ertiga (Petrol) compliant with BS VI emission norms.

“Ertiga (Petrol) is now BS-VI compliant. This will result in price increase in all variants of the model,” MSI said in a regulatory filing. The revised ex-showroom price of the model in Delhi/NCR now varies from Rs 7.54 lakh to Rs 10.05 lakh, it added.

Recently, Maruti Suzuki Ertiga’s CNG variants of the and taxi-spec Ertiga Tour M MPVs. Yes, you read it right. While the Ertiga CNG has been priced at Rs 8.88 lakh, the Ertiga Tour M CNG costs Rs 8.83 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).

It is to be noted that both the Ertiga CNG costs around Rs 71,000 more and the Ertiga Tour M CNG costs around Rs 66,000 more as compared to the Ertiga VXi. The CNG variant of Ertiga is available in the mid-spec VXi trim-level, while the Ertiga Tour M is only offered in a single trim level based on the standard VXi trim.

Apart from this, in a statement Maruti Suzuki India stated that it has sold more than 61,000 units of the next-gen Ertiga since its launch in November 2018. The automaker further added that this amounts to 60 per cent growth as compared to the same months in the previous year. As a matter of fact, the car's average monthly sales are over 8,000 units, thus making it the best-selling MPV in India.

Shashank Srivastava, Executive Director- Marketing & Sales, Maruti Suzuki India Limited said, "Ertiga has managed to win customer hearts with its focus on safety, design, style, space and performance. In the short span of nearly eight months of its launch, the new Ertiga's accomplishment of achieving the market leader position in MPV is overwhelming considering the growing competition in this segment.”

Talking specifically about the month of June this year, the company witnessed a sales growth of 76 per cent in June this year with selling 7567 units of Ertiga. However, in June last year, Maruti Suzuki has sold 4311 units of Ertiga.
