New Delhi:

Maruti Suzuki is all geared up to introduce all-new WagonR in the Indian market on January 23. The design of the new Maruti Suzuki WagonR will be completely different from its predecessor on both interior and exterior sides. The new WagonR will be wider, longer because it is built on the modified version of Suzuki’s fifth generation platform which is lighter and much safer. Few images are making rounds over the internet from all sides which shows that the automaker has made significant changes in its looks.

The major changes which are visible from outside includes headlamps which are taller and more wrapped around the fender, the B and C pillar are given black finish which is also present in current variants of Swift and Ertiga and the tail-lights are extended and given an inwards arc.

On specs front, the all-new Maruti Suzuki WagonR will come with a 1.2-litre K12 four-cylinder engine which can produce 83 bhp of power and 113 Nm of torque. However, the current 1.0-litre engine variant will also be available for lower variants. The newly launched version will also come in AMT and 5-speed manual transmission options.

The all-electric variant of the car will take a while to arrive though, and it won’t be before 2020 when it will be available. It will be the first mass-market electric car from Maruti Suzuki and a competitive price tag could be expected. Expect to pay less than Rs 10 lakh for the all-electric variant of the WagonR. The car is expected to have a usable range per charge as well. While the exact figure is yet to be revealed, about 150-200 kilometre of usable range per charge is what the new Maruti WagonR Electric is likely to offer.
