Indian origin based online taxi app Ola has introduced fleet of auto rickshaws manufactured by Bajaj, Piaggio in United Kingdom’s Liverpool with an aim to overtake city’s number one ride-hailing company, Uber. It will be fifth city in UK for Ola after it was launched in August 2018 in Cardiff, then to Bristol, Bath and Exeter and the company is looking to expand in the North of England in the year 2019.
Ola aims to increase the number of service users by offering the services at economical rates. It also offers 50 per cent off on the first ride to the customers who has downloaded the app before April ends.
Managing Director or Ola UK Ben Legg said, “I have been driving passengers around the city today and have really enjoyed the chance to discuss the challenges that the community faces and how we can help with our new technology’’.
“We are celebrating bringing more travel and employment choices to Liverpudlians with our ride-hailing app with the help of the community choir’’, he added.
Ola also says it offers the highest driver rates, charging 10 per cent commission to black cabs, compared with 25 per cent charged by competitors.
