It seems that the Auto sector has been growing in India comprehensively. Recently, Maruti Suzuki Baleno reached 6 lakh cumulative sales milestone in India in just 44 months. And now, Renault Kwid has crossed 3 lakh sales milestone in India. Isn’t it great?
It is to be noted that the Renault Kwid, also known as minicar, was launched in the year 2015 and is available for a starting price of Rs 2.76 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). Since 2015, the French carmaker has sold 3 lakh units of Kwid.
Renault Kwid is offered in two engine options. The 3-cylinder, DOHC, 4-valve, 0.8-litre SCe petrol engine produces 54 bhp and 72 Nm of torque, while a 3-cylinder, DOHC, 4-valve, 1.0-litre petrol variant churns out 67 bhp and 91 Nm of torque. The Renault’s minicar comes mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox and a 5-speed automatic transmission.
On the features front, Renault Kwid has 7-inch touchscreen Media NAV system, one-touch lane change indicator, digital instrument cluster, speed dependent volume control and pro-sense seat belt pretensioners with load limiters. It also gets a 300-litre of boot space.
On the safety features front, Kwid has driver airbag, ABS (Anti-Lock Braking System) with EBD (Electronic Brakeforce Distribution), driver and co-driver seat belt reminder and speed alert system. Besides, the car also gets a standard rear-view camera assist. Interestingly, Kwid Climder comes with rear armrest as well.
From April 2019, Renault had hiked the price of Kwid range by up to three per cent. Renault Kwid is up against Maruti Suzuki Alto 800 facelift and Datsun redi-GO in the Indian market.
