Toyota on Tuesday, presented their mid-size sedan named Yaris at the Auto Expo 2018, which recently concluded. Toyota Yaris is set compete against the big names like Hyundai Versna, Maruti Suzuki Ciaz and Honda City.
The name Yaris comes from the Greek goddess Charis, who personifies charm and beauty. The mid-size sedan is set to hit the showrooms next month.
Toyota has borrowed the design for Yaris from cars like Camry and Corolla and have used plenty of chrome to give it a premium sedan look.
Wider size will provide more space inside the cabin, and Toyota have given Yaris a muscular but curvy look to woo the Indian audience. The Japanese company has also 12 new first class features like roof-mounted air vents, vibration control glass and a 4.2 inch TFT MID to name a few.
Yaris will come with a single 1.5 litre 4-cylinder, petrol engine with an output of 1080hp. The engine will have a 6-speed manual gearbox with a 7-step CVT (auto transmission).
As Toyota is competing with the likes of Hyundai, Honda and Maruti Suzuki, they need to hit the bulls-eye with the pricing. Using the Toyota plant in Karnataka, the company has given a big boost by indicating that the pricing will be very competitive. Toyota Yaris is set to go on floor with a starting price of Rs.8 lakh and with the price of the top model going north with Rs.12 lakh
