The third generation of BMW S1000RR which was first unveiled at 2018 EICMA Show in November is all set to enter the Indian market soon. BMW Motorrad India has already begun posting teaser of the superbike on its Twitter handle and is expected to get launched in the Indian market. First launched in the year 2009, the new BMW S1000RR will witness a number of changes including 6.5-inch screen electronic cruise control, twin LED headlamps, new rear cowl with a sleek LED tail lamp along with LED turn indicators and more refined engine.

The 2019 BMW S1000RR comes with a new 998cc in-line four-cylinder engine which can produce a power of 207 bhp at 13,500 rpm and 83 Nm of torque at 11,000 torque which is 8bhp more than its predecessor.

BMW Motorrad India said, “Answer the call of the road. Get your riding gear ready for a thrill unlike any you’ve experienced before. The all-new BMW Motorrad #S1000RR is on its way to India. Stay tuned’’.

The overall weight of the bike has been reduced to 197 kgs from 208 kgs and the saddle height is also increased to 824 mm which allows it for more dedicated riding position. The new bike is around 10.6 kg lighter than the previous version and the engine of BMW S1000R alone is three kgs lighter.

BMW S1000RR can achieve 0-100 kmph in just three seconds and a top speed of 299 kmph. It comes with four riding modes including road, rain, dynamic and race.

BMW will also offer an 'M' race package, which has carbon-fibre wheels, race livery and much more.

The price of the new 2019 BMW S1000R is expected to be around Rs 18-20 lakh.
