Bajaj Auto on Tuesday added a new variant in the Platina lineup. Notably, Bajaj Platina H-Gear has been launched with a new five-speed gearbox and a new digital instrument panel with "Gear Shift Guide," trip meter and fuel indicator.

The drum brake variant of Platina H-Gear commuter motorcycle has been priced at Rs 53,376 (ex-showroom Delhi), while the disc brake variant will cost Rs 55,373 (ex-showroom Delhi).

The motorcycle is available in three colour options i.e. Ebony Black with Royal Burgundy decals, Ebony Black with Blue decals and in Cocktail Wine Red across all Bajaj dealerships in India. Interestingly, the engine casing has also gone black from silver and features a bronze ring.

According to the Bajaj, the new version is optimised for highway riding and thanks to the additional fifth gear it comes with and a few more features.

The Platina 110 H-Gear now joins the highly successful existing Platina 110 and the Platina 100 ES to offer a premium option to consumers. Our R&D team's efforts have led to the launch of Platina 110 H-Gear that boasts of many first-in-class features that deliver the perfect combination of comfort, mileage, pickup and style," said Sarang Kanade, President, Motorcycle Business, Bajaj Auto.

Bajaj Platina 110 H-Gear uses 115.5cc air-cooled DTS-I engine that makes 8.6hp and 9.81Nm of torque. CBS is standard on both variants of the Platina 110 H-Gear.

It is worth mentioning here that Bajaj Platina is one of the largest selling models in Bajaj Auto's motorcycle line-up. It has been extended to three variants i.e. the standard Platina 100, the Platina 100 ES and now the Platina 100 H-Gear. From April 2018 to March 2019, 6,26,000 units of Bajaj Platina were sold.
