New Delhi:

The Chinese-motorcycle manufacturer CFMoto was supposed to launch four motorcycles in India today. However, due to the torrential rains in Mumbai, the CFMoto has delayed the launch event indefinitely. CFMoto and AMW are yet to announce the new launch date for the motorcycles.

In the view of Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) prediction of heavy rainfall until July 5 in Mumbai and nearby areas, CFMoto said in a statement that it decided to call of the event keeping attendees safety concerns in mind.

It is to be noted that the CFMoto was set to enter the Indian market on Thursday, in partnership with Bangalore-based AMW Motorcycles at an event in Mumbai. CFMoto will make its debut with four motorcycles - 300NK, 650MT, 650GT and the 650NK.

CFMoto 300NK

The CFMoto 300NK is powered by a 292.4 cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine which produces 33 bhp and 20.5 Nm of peak torque. It also features LED headlamp with DRLs, LCD TFT display similar to the KTM 390 Duke, along with USD forks up front and a monoshock at the rear. The CFMoto 300NK uses disc brakes at either end with dual-channel ABS for braking duties. The most affordable bike of CFMoto will compete with KTM 250 Duke, Bajaj Dominar and the Honda CB300R in the Indian market.

The other three motorcycles from CFMoto include the 650NK street-fighter, 650MT adventure tourer and the 650GT sports tourer. All the three bikes share the same 649 cc twin-cylinder engine. The CFMoto 650NK has been tuned for 60 bhp and 56 Nm of peak torque and is a rival of Kawasaki Z650.

The CFMoto 650MT is an adventure tourer that produces 69 bhp and 62 Nm of peak torque. The bike gets a full fairing and higher kerb weight at 213 kg, which is about 7 kg more than the 650NK. It competes with Kawasaki Versys 650.

The CFMoto 650GT churns out 60 bhp and 58.5 Nm of peak torque from the same twin-cylinder engine. It is a rival of Kawasaki Ninja 650.

All three bikes use a 6-speed transmission and use twin discs up front and a single disc at the rear for braking power. However, the suspension set-up is different on the bikes though with the 650GT and the 650NK using telescopic forks up front and a monoshock at the rear, while the 650MT gets USD forks up front with a monoshock at the rear. Also, dual-channel ABS will be offered as standard.

According to the media reports, AMW is setting up a production facility near Bangalore to assemble these bikes with a production capacity of 10,000 units per year. Importantly, the sales of all three bikes will commence from dealerships coming up in Hyderabad, Bangalore, Mumbai, Pune, and Chennai.

It is worth mentioning here that all CFMoto is likely to reschedule the event later this month.
