Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India recently introduced its first two BS6 compliant models i.e. Honda Activa 125 and the Honda SP 125 in the country. Now, the automaker has announced that dispatches of the two BS6 two-wheelers have crossed the 60,000 mark.

Yadvinder Singh Guleria, Senior Vice President, Sales & Marketing, HMSI said, "We thank our valued customers for their trust in brand Honda, especially in this transition to the BS6 era. Crossing 60,000 units' landmark a quarter before the BS-VI March 2020 deadline, even as we are yet to complete the all India market availability; is a testimony of Indian customers' confidence on Honda in the BS-VI era."

Honda Activa 125 BS6

The new Honda Activa 125 comes equipped with a BS6-compliant, 124 cc, PGM-FI (Programmed-Fuel Injection), fan-cooled, four-stroke engine that churns out 8.29 hp and 10.3 Nm of torque. Bharat Stage VI (BS6) compliant Honda Activa 125 is 1,850 mm long. The width is 707 mm, while the height is 1,170 mm. It has a 1260 mm wheelbase.

The new Honda Activa 125 comes with telescopic suspension at the front and 3-step adjustable spring-loaded hydraulic unit at the rear. The new Activa 125 BS6 gets a 12-inch tyre at the front and a 10-inch tyre at the rear.

The new BS6 compliant Honda Activa 125 also gets several new and updates creature comforts including the multi-function ignition switch now has a remote release for the fuel lid, and a remote seat hatch opening operation. The instrument console gets a handy side-stand indicator on the tell-tale lights, which also acts as an engine inhibitor, and will not allow the engine to start if the side stand is down.

There is a 190 mm disc at the front in Activa 125 BS6 and 130 mm drum at the rear. In the Indian market, Honda Activa 125 BS6 will compete against the likes of Hero Maestro Edge 125 and Suzuki Access 125.

Below are the variants wise pricing details of Bharat Stage VI (BS6) compliant Honda Activa 125:

Activa 125 BS6 Standard - Rs 67,490 (ex-showroom, Delhi).

Activa 125 BS6 Alloy - Rs 70,990 (ex-showroom, Delhi).

Activa 125 BS6 Deluxe - Rs 74,490 (ex-showroom, Delhi).

Honda SP125 BS6

The BS-6 compliant Honda SP 125 comes with a new design. It gets a fully digital meter, which displays details pertaining to fuel efficiency, gear position, service, and trip, among others. Other features the motorcycle include LED DC headlamp, engine start/stop switch, integrated headlamp beam and passing switch, and chrome muffler cover.

It comes in two variants (Drum & Disc) and 4 colours - Striking Green, Mat Axis Grey Metallic, Imperial Red Metallic, and Pearl Siren Blue.

Honda SP125 gets a BS6-compliant, PGM-FI (Programmed Fuel Injection), 125 cc engine with eSP (enhanced smart power) technology. The engine belts 10.7 bhp at 7500 rpm and develops 10.9 Nm of peak torque at 6000 rpm. It is mated to a 5-speed gearbox.

Honda SP125 BS6 sits on a diamond type frame. It gets a telescopic suspension up front and 5-step adjustable hydraulic suspension at the rear. There are 18-inch tubeless tyres. The alloy wheels have a 240 mm disc or 130 mm drum at the front and 130 mm drum at the rear. The motorcycle makes use of CBS (combi-brake system) with equalizer.

Honda SP125 Drum - Rs 72,900.

Honda SP125 Disc - Rs 77,100.
