Honda CB300R has gone costlier now. Yes, you read it right. The motorcycle has received its first price hike since launch. After the price hike, Honda CB300R now costs Rs 2.42 lakh (ex-showroom). The price of Honda CB300R has been increased by Rs 989, over its launch price of Rs 2.41 lakh from February, 2019.
It is worth mentioning here that at the time of launch, Honda CB300R received an overwhelming response. Honda CB300R was sold out for the next three months since the motorcycle went on sale. The motorcycle comes to India as a Completely Knocked Down (CKD) kit and it managed to outsell the locally produced Honda CBR250R.
Apart from price hike, the Honda CB300R does not get any change. The motorcycle comes equipped with the retro-inspired Neo Sports Cafe design language that first debuted on the new Honda CB1000R. It further houses a circular LED headlamp, muscular fuel tank with brushed silver radiator shrouds and a wide handlebar.
The motorcycle has split seats and minimal body panels for the tail section which also provides a standout design feature. Honda CB300R comes equipped with the 286 cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that churns out 30 bhp and 27.4 Nm of peak torque. The engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox.
The Honda CB300R features 41 mm Showa USD front forks and a monoshock unit at the rear. The motorcycle also uses a 296 mm single disc with radial four-pot calipers at the front, while the rear uses a 220 mm disc with a single-piston caliper. The CB300R gets dual-channel ABS as standard. The motorcycle is available in two colour options - Candy Chromosphere Red and Matte Axis Gray Metallic.
Braking duties on the Honda CB300R are handled by disc brake at both ends - a 296mm at the front and a 220mm disc at the rear. Safety features on the motorcycle feature dual-channel ABS. On the other hand, suspension duties are handled by upside-down forks at the front and a mono-shock at the back. The CB300R gets dual-channel ABS as standard.
On the competition front, the Honda CB300R is up against the likes of the BMW G 310 R, KTM 390 Duke and the upcoming CFMoto 300NK.
