Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India unveiled its 1000-cc superbike Africa Twin in the Indian market with an aim to capture the premium sports bike segment. 

The superbike shall hit the Indian roads with a price tag of Rs 12,90 lakh. The company has commenced with the limited booking for the bike.
The company is planning to roll out its first 1000-cc superbike in July which will be assembled locally.

HMSI said the pre-launch bookings for this adventure motorcycle is open only to first 50 orders, and a few lucky customers will get a chance to attend the grand outdoor 'True Adventure' Africa Twin India.

The popular Africa Twin will be known as Honda CRF 1000L Africa Twin in the local market and will be assembled in India. These bikes will be sold through its Wing World outlets which are available in 22 cities.

YS Guleria, SVP for sales and marketing, said the Africa Twin is inseparable from the world's toughest motor rally raids in the world--the Dakar Rally.

Gulf Oil net up marginally to Rs 32 cr. Lubricants player Gulf Oil International reported a marginal rise in net income at Rs 32 crore for the three months to March despite an over 10 per cent rise in revenue.

For the full year, post-tax profit rose 20.7 per cent to Rs 121.08 crore while revenue grew close to 12 per cent at Rs 1131 crore.
The Hinduja group company claimed it managed to grow its revenue over three times the industry growth rate with an 11 per cent volume growth.

It said bottomline growth was helped by an expansion of margin by 22 bps to 16.1 per cent and this was possible bysales ramp up in commercial vehicles, passenger cars and motorcycle oils.

Grihashakti launches special home loan for women Fullerton India Home Finance Company, which operates under the brand Grihashakti, launched a home loanproduct specially designed for women.

The product, 'Grihalakshmi', encourages salaried and entrepreneurial women in urban and semi-urban India to help build a home for their family and create asset ownership on the basis of their income, a company statement said here.

The rate of interest on these loans is competitively priced, from 9.50 per cent onwards for a housing loan and 11.50 per cent onwards for non-housing loans. The loan ticket  size for Grihalakshmi will range from Rs 5 lakh to Rs 5 crore.        

Visa launches contactless toll payments for NHAI Payments technology firm Visa today said it has launched the country's first proof-of-concept (PoC) to showcase open loop contactless toll payments at NHAI's Manesar toll plaza.

Once commercialised, open loop payment systems (compatible with contactless cards issued by any bank or provisioned in enabled devices) could significantly reduce congestion and waiting times at toll plazas, the company said in a statement issued here.

Indian Highways Management Company, set up by NHAI to carry out electronic tolling, has commissioned the deployment of the Manesar PoC (in Haryana).

A key objective of the PoC is to assess the advantage of contactless payments in increasing the number of vehicles passing through the toll plaza.
