In a bid to boost its sale during the festive season, TVS Motor Company on Monday launched a new Star City+ dual tone special edition for an introductory price of Rs 54,579 (ex-showroom, Delhi). The Star City+ special edition is available in a white-black dual tone colour scheme. Importantly, the newly-launched motorcycle further gets a dual-tone colour seat, dual-tone finished rear view mirrors and shock absorbers finished in colour. 

It is worth mentioning here that there are no mechanical changes in the special edition variant. TVS Star City+ special edition comes equipped with 109.7 cc engine that belts out 8.4 PS and 8.7 Nm of torque. It is mated to a 4-speed constant mesh transmission. 

TVS Star City+ special edition houses a single cradle tubular frame. Also, there is a telescopic oil damped front suspension and 5-step adjustable hydraulic shock absorber at the rear. The motorcycle further comes equipped with 17-inch tubeless tyres. TVS Star City+ special edition sports dual tone seat and mirrors and coloured shock absorbers. 

On the features front, Star City+ comes with Automatic Headlight On (AHO) and honeycomb textured side panel grills. It gets stainless-steel muffler, aluminum black grab rail, black alloy wheels and premium 3D emblems. The TVS Star City+ has a kerb weight of 109 kg, and with a fuel tank capacity of 10 litres with 2 litres reserve. The new Special Edition variant gets other standard features like automatic headlight on (AHO) and stainless steel exhaust muffler. 

Importantly, TVS Motor Company's sales fell by over 15 per cent in August 2019 due to the slump in India’s auto sector. Overall, the industry has posted negative growth of 22 per cent in August 2019 with both scooter and motorcycle sales declining for several months in a row.
