UM DSR Adventure 200 to launch soon in India at Rs 1.39 lakh

UM Motorcycles is all geared up to launch all-new 200 cc adventure motorcycle named DSR Adventure 200 and is expected to be priced around Rs 1.39 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). It will be UM’s first launch in the Indian market and is scheduled to get launched in the first quarter of 2019. Some images were leaked over the internet where the UM DSR Adventure 200 ABS can be seen boasting panniers and a top box like the international-spec Romet.

On specifications front, UM DSR Adventure 200 will come with a 196 cc air-cooled, 2-valve, carburetted, single-cylinder engine which produces 16 hp of power at 8500 rpm and 16 Nm of torque at 6500 rpm. The engine of the bike is mated with a 6-speed gearbox and has a 14-litre of fuel tank.

The seating height of bike is kept low at around 780 mm, which is adapt for an adventure bike. The UM bike will have a 17-inch wheels, shod with dual-sport rubber, and with disc brakes on both wheels, and a standard single-channel ABS.

UM DSR Adventure 200 bike will be available in four colour options including Olive Green, Midnight Black, Brick Red and Octane Blue.

The UM DSR Adventure 200 once launched will be indirect competition with Hero’s XPulse 200, which will less Rs 20,000-Rs 30,000 less expensive than the UM DSR Adventure.

The Hero XPulse comes with a 200 cc single-cylinder engine which can produce power of 18.4PS at 8000rpm and torque of 17.1Nm at 6500rpm. However, it is mated with a 5-speed transmission. It will also have all-digital instrument console, LED lights at both ends, a top rack, crash guards and provisions for pannier mounts.

The year of 2019 will be full of several off-road bike launches for the Indian market. Recently, popular bike manufacturer Benelli testing the TRK 502 X. Royal Enfield tested Classic 500 Scrambler, Yamaha tested its XTZ 125 and KTM tested its 309 Adventure.
