Toyota has launched its first generation Supra which has been sold at an auction for a whopping amount of $2.1 million which is approximately Rs 15 crore. The sports car was sold at the Barrett-Jackson auction in Scottsdale, Arizona and all the proceeding from the auction will go to the charity. It was sold for $2.1 million to Craig Jackson who is the chairman and CEO of the Barrett-Jackson auction. The car will have the VIN number 202001, which means 2020 is the model year of the car and 01 denotes first ever car to roll out of the assembly line.

The original price of the Toyota Supra is around $55,000 but was sold for $2.1 million in the auction. However, the whole amount of the sale goes to charity. In this charity, the amount of the auction will be split between the American Heart Association and the Bob Woodruff Foundation. These organisation helps veterans and service members.

The Toyota Supra comes with one-off paintjob, a matte grey combined with a set of ORVMs and a set of custom matte black alloy wheels.

Talking about its interior, the Supra will have a red and black theme along with a range of carbon-fibre options. The engine bay of the sports car will be signed by Toyota CEO Akio Toyoda.

The buyer of Toyota Supra also gets a full VIP race track experience which includes a fully customised professional racing suit, two VIP passes and hot passes to Toyota Owners 400 – Richmond Raceway and a chance to drive Toyota pace car.

The all-new Supra has been developed with BMW, marking its comeback after a long gap of 17 years. It will come with a 3.0-litre 6-cylinder twin-scroll turbocharged engine which can produce maximum power of 335 bhp of power and 495 Nm of torque.

The engine is mated with an 8-speed automatic transmission and the Toyota Supra can achieve a speed of 0-100 kmph in just 4.1 seconds. It’s top speed is 250 kmph.
