South Korean auto major Hyundai on Thursday unveiled the new version of its popular SUV Creta at the Auto Expo 2020. Hyundai Creta 2020, which was unveiled by Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan, is expected to be launched in March. The second-generation Creta has been given a more masculine and futuristic look, while being equipped with premium features, efficient powertrain, and smart technology.
“The all-new Creta would be launched in March and we are sure that this product will offer great customer delight and supersede their aspirations and expectations,” Hyundai Motor India Managing Director and CEO SS Kim told reporters.
He further said, “With over 6.5 lakh owners worldwide, Creta has become the most loved and admired SUV in the segment.”
The new Creta will come with premium features like a panoramic sunroof, LED Headlamps, enhanced Bluelink 1.5, among others, the company said.
Speaking at the unveiling, Khan said while Creta was so successful, it was just not about numbers but was also about Hyundai bringing safety, newer technologies and driving pleasure to the customers. In jest he said, in the last 22 years, two things have happened to him - becoming a father and another becoming the brand ambassador of Hyundai.
“So I feel like I am the father of Hyundai in India,” he quipped.
Hyundai Creta 2020 resembles the latest ix25 sold in China. As for the exterior of the new Hyundai Creta is concerned, the car comes with an updated front fascia that boasts cascading grille and refurbished split headlamp setup. The headlamp setup includes LED DRLs. At the back, there is a LED combination lights. Also, there are new alloy wheels.

On the inside, the new Hyundai Creta includes premium upholstery, multifunction steering wheel, 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, and a panoramic sunroof.
While there is no word regarding the engine, it is expected that the new Hyundai Creta will come equipped with the engine options that are available with Kia Seltos. It is to be noted that Kia Seltos comes equipped with three BS6-engine options including 1.5-litre petrol, 1.5-litre VGT diesel, and 1.4-litre Turbo GDI petrol.

All the engines are mated to a standard 6-speed manual gearbox. The automatic transmission options include IVT with 1.5-litre petrol, 6-speed AT with 1.5-litre VGT diesel and 7-speed DCT with 1.4-litre Turbo GDI petrol.
The present model of Hyundai Creta is priced between Rs 10 lakh (ex-showroom) and Rs 15.67 lakh (ex-showroom). Hyundai Creta 2020 is expected to be priced between Rs 10 lakh (ex-showroom) and Rs 17 lakh (ex-showroom).
