Jaguar India announces launch of petrol version of Range Rover Sport at THIS price

Jaguar Land Rover India (JLR) on Tuesday announced the launch of a new petrol version of the Range Rover Sport. Yes, you read it right. Avaialble in S, SE & HSE trim, the luxury SUV is powered by a 2-litre petrol engine with a twin-scroll turbocharger that delivers a power output nearly 300bhp and 400 Nm of peak torque. 

The powerful 2-litre petrol engine allows the Sport to accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in 7.1 seconds and hit a top speed of over 200 kmph. 

As far as the interior of the luxury SUV is  concerened, it includes a sliding panoramic roof and electrically powered tailgate. For 2019, the Range Rover Sport comes with a range of additional features including three-zone climate control, cabin air ionisation and parking assist. 

The cabin also gets Land Rover’s updated Touch Pro Duo infotainment system including a 12.3-inch display and a colour head-up display. 

Besides the 2-litre version, the Range Rover Sport petrol line-up also includes the high performance SVR version.  The car is priced at Rs 86.71 lakhs ex-showroom for the base variant.

The Model Year 2019 2.0 l petrol derivative should further increase the aspirational value of the flagship model at an attractive and exciting price.” 

Recently, JLR initiated sale of locally manufactured model Range Rover Velar in the country. The made-in-India Velar starts a price of Rs 72.47 lakh (ex-showroom) which is a massive drop of around Rs 25 lakh as compared to the completely built units (CBU) variants of the model.

Importantly, Land Rover range in India includes the Discovery Sport, Range Rover Evoque, all-new Discovery, Range Rover Sport (Diesel) and Range Rover.
