After Kia Seltos, the automaker is gearing up for the launch of its second model in India i.e. Kia Carnival. The bookings for Kia Carnival began on January 21, 2020 and the upcoming premium MPV garnered 1410 bookings on the very first day. The bookings are open for Kia Carnival online and via the company 265 touchpoints pan India. The token amount is at Rs 1 lakh. Kia Motors India will launch the premium MPV at the 2020 Auto Expo. It is to be noted that the 2020 Auto Expo is tentatively scheduled to be held on February 5, 2020.

We attained 1,410 bookings for Kia's new offering in the Indian market in just one day after we started accepting pre-orders. It is also clear that there was an unmet demand for a world-class product like the Carnival in India. Our priority now is to make sure our extravagant by design Carnival reaches those who have reposed faith in it and in Kia Motors at the earliest."
Coming back to Kia Carnival, the 5115 mm-long MPV has a width and height of 1985 mm and 1755 mm, respectively. The wheelbase stands at 3060 mm while the ground clearance has been measured at 171 mm for the Carnival. The car weighs 2102 Kg. Visually, Kia Carnival comes with the tiger-nose grille at the front which is housed between wraparound headlamps and framed fog lamps on the sides. On the back, there is a small spoiler and wide. On the inside, it gets features such as touchscreen infotainment display, chrome detailing, and two sunroofs.
Kia Carnival draws power from a 2.2-litre diesel engine that churns out 197 bhp and 440 Nm of peak torque. It is mated to an 8-Speed automatic gearbox. The Carnival will be manufactured at the company's plant in Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh.
It is expected that Kia Carnival will be priced between Rs 24 lakh to Rs 30 lakh (ex-showroom). After the launch, Kia Carnival will compete against Toyota Innova Crysta in India. Kia Carnival will arrive in India via the CKD route.
It is worth mentioning here that with the launch of Seltos on August 22, 2019 in India, Kia Motors marked its debut in the country on a positive note. Kia Seltos has been one of the most successful launches of 2019 and has taken the compact SUV segment by storm.
