Kia Seltos is all set to be launched on Thursday (August 22, 2019). Along with the launch of Seltos, Kia Motors will enter the Indian market. The bookings for the compact SUV started on July 16 for a token amount of Rs 25,000 and within three weeks 23,311 units were booked. Yes, you read it right. Kia Seltos has been receiving overwhelming response ever since it was announced. It is worth mentioning here that the GTX Plus DCT is the most popular variant of Seltos at present. The deliveries of Seltos will start on August 22 after its launch. According to India Today report, Kia Seltos GT Line will soon have a diesel engine option. Kia Seltos will be available in Tech Line and GT Line trims. The Tech Line trim will be divided into five variants -- HT E, HT K, HT K+, HT X and HT X+. The GT Line trim will have three variants -- GT K, GT X and GT X+.
Kia Seltos will come with BS VI compliant powertrain. The SUV will come with an option of 1.4 litre Turbo GDI petrol engine and a 1.5-litre diesel engine. It will also come with multiple automatic transmission options like IVT, 7-speed DCT and 6-speed AT and a 6-speed manual gearbox. The compact SUV will be available in normal, eco and sports drive modes.
The mid-size SUV will have the iconic tiger-nose grille with full LED headlamps on the front and vertically housed LED fog lamps. On the rear, the car will be equipped with LED taillights and dual exhaust pipes.
Along with 17-inch five-spoke dual-tone alloy wheels, the compact SUV will come with roof rails and shark fin antenna. Inside the cabin, the new Kia Seltos will feature a 10.25-inch touchscreen audio video navigation system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility.
The compact SUV will also get features like 8-inch HUD (Heads Up Display), blind-spot view monitor, EPS (Electronic Power Steering), eco coating, three-spoke multifunction steering wheel and push-button start/stop. The compact SUV will be available in eight monotone and five dual-tone colour options.
On the safety features front, the car will carry multiple airbags, ABS (Anti-lock Braking System) with EBD (Electronic Brakeforce Distribution) and BA (Brake Assist), reverse parking sensors and camera, the compact SUV also gets VSM (Vehicle Stability Management), ESC (Electronic Stability Control), TCS (Traction Control System) and HAC (Hill-start Assist Control). There will be a 360-degree camera as well.
The price of Kia Seltos is expected to range between Rs 10 lakh (ex-showroom) to Rs 16 lakh (ex-showroom).
Kia Seltos is being manufactured at the carmaker's manufacturing facility in Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh. The automaker has currently set up 192 dealerships across 160 cities in India. All these dealerships of Kia Motors feature Kia's internet of things (IOT) theme or the Kia link App. It means that digital purchase and after sales services will be available at all Kia dealerships. The Kia Link App will help scheduling a service appointment and the owners will be notified about an upcoming or service due reminder, to maintain the vehicle performance.
