Lexus India on Thursday launched the 2020 RX450hL Luxury SUV in India at the starting price of Rs 99 Lakh (ex-showroom). It is to be noted that the all-new Lexus RX450hL is a seven-seater version of the RX450h which is already on sale in India. Importantly, the 2020 RX450hL Luxury SUV gets a BS6 compliant hybrid powertrain. It is available for bookings from this month across the company's dealerships.

In terms of design, the front-end of the 2020 RX450hL Luxury SUV is inspired by RX450h. Even the rear-end of both models look the same. It comes with three-eye L-shaped LED headlamps with daytime running lights that create the signature Lexus arrowhead-shaped illumination, LED turn indicators and the trademark Lexus spindle grille.
On the inside, Lexus RX450hL gets theatre-style seating that allows excellent visibility in each row. The vehicle has a touchscreen display with the Lexus-original remote touch interface. Whereas, the dashboard also integrates a new phone holder and USB port, while the infotainment system offers both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. The system also offers voice control via native cloud connection and Lexus Navigation.
The Lexus new SUV uses high tensile strength steel and aluminium in its construction, along with spot welds and body adhesives, laser screw welding and more to improve rigidity, and the overall steering response and ride quality.The SUV also features Active Cornering Assist (ACA) and new redesigned shock absorbers with new Friction Control Device (FCD). Lexus RX450hL comes equipped with a BS6 compliant, 3.5-litre V6 Atkinson Cycle engine. Importantly, the engine has Dual VVT-i and advanced D-4S fuel injection system for better performance, fuel efficiency and reduced emissions.
It is worth mentioning here that on the competition front in India, Lexus RX450hL will be up against the Mercedes-Benz GLE, Audi Q7, BMW X7 and Range Rover Velar.
